Mixie McAllister Celebration of Life
Mixie McGhee McAllister
Obituary
Mixie was the beloved wife of Dallas H. McAllister for over 75 years. She was the love of his life and a treasure of his heart.
She loved and enjoyed her family and was a great example of a godly woman to those who live on in her legacy of faith: Daughters — Debbie (Tony) Weiger and Patty (Scotty) Hopkins; Grandchildren — Pamela Jo (Kevin) Holmes, Adam (Linda) Weiger, Jonathan (Tressie) Hopkins and Joshua (Audrey) Weiger; Great-grandchildren — Haylee Jo (Logan) Rysko, Austin, Zachary, Emma, Ava and Dallas Weiger, Landon and Benjamin Hopkins, Quentin (Claudia), Keaton, Cora, and Isaac Holmes; and one great-great-grandchild — Ember Delp. Also, a whole host of nieces and nephews fondly remember their “Aunt Mixie”.
She was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and lived to follow Him. A huge part of her Christian life was her service and faithful attendance at Chilhowie First Church of God, as part of the choir, women’s and children’s ministries, Bible studies and prayer groups. She loved her church family and was well-loved by them.
Mixie was preceded in death by two infant sons, Richard Dwight and Gary Allen McAllister, her parents Estel and Susie McGhee and 11 siblings: Della May, Garland, Mary Rachel, Richard (Topsy), Dora Agnes, William (Buck), Annie, Hazel, Laura Belle (Tiny), Joyce and Betty Sue. What an amazing reunion they have had in Heaven!
Funeral services will be conducted 3 PM Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, at the Chilhowie First Church of God. Burial will follow at the McAllister Family Cemetery in Saltville, VA. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 PM prior to the funeral service at the church. Condolences can be made to the family at www.wfhchilhowie.com. Williams Funeral Home is serving the McAllister family.
Special Thanks to friends and family who shared in the service:
Rev. Tony Weiger, Pastor Cody Sturgill, Pamela Holmes, Adam Weiger, Jonathan Hopkins, Pastor Joshua Weiger, and Pastor Bobby Dunn (graveside service).
