The Acts of the Apostles, Part 45: Kingdom Focus

There is no denying that there are seasons in life.

We have our literal seasons, like spring, summer, fall, and winter.

There are also metaphorical seasons, like youth, teen years, adulthood, and elderly.

In today's message, we see the Apostle Paul preparing for a new season of his life; a season of imprisonment followed by death.

Paul is aware of this and is preparing the "elders" of the church to function without his direct input.

Paul desires to see the church continue to function in a healthy way during his imprisonment and following his death.

We live in the legacy of his work and effort, even here in the United States in the year 2026.

We must always be preparing the next generation or two to know how to function in our absence, the same way a parent prepares a child to live as a capable adult.

In the world of the church, the next generation needs to carry on the same way.

We call this "Discipleship"

A discipleship centered church exists with a Kingdom Focus, to carry on from one generation to the next, making more and more disciples of Christ.
